Shunde, 13 August 2010: Star player Liang Wenchong has set his sights on yet another OneAsia win at the Midea China Classic to take place in Shunde this year. Alongside other leading players from across the region, the 31-year-old defending champion will gun for his third trophy-win on what will be his fifth OneAsia tournament of the season.This year's tournament will see its prize purse doubled to US$1 million on the OneAsia platform, thanks to the solid and continued sponsorship support from the Midea Group for the sixth consecutive year. It will tee off at the Royal Orchid International Golf Club from October 14 to 17.
"2010 has really been a year of hope for Chinese golf," Liang said. "Tournaments like these have gotten better and as such there have been more opportunities for golfers to develop. This is exactly how Chinese players have been able to make a lot of progress."
He said, "Winning the Midea China Classic last year was an unforgettable experience which still sits vividly in my mind. I am looking forward to defending my title this year and playing competitively alongside my fellow countrymen!"
The seventh event on OneAsia's 2010 schedule, the Midea China Classic will be broadcast across the globe on OneAsia's comprehensive TV platform, providing live coverage of the tournament for four hours per day, across all four tournament days, into over 260 million homes in more than 40 countries.
This includes not only extensive live television and online streamed coverage in China, but complete international coverage on networks such as ESPN Star Sports across South East Asia and India, SBS in Korea, Bloomberg Television in Europe and the Middle East, Jupiter in Japan, America One across North America and Network Ten in Australia, amongst others.

The Midea China Classic, first played in 2005, is an annual golfing tradition with some well known names inscribed on the trophy such as local hero Zhang Lianwei (2006), Thailand's Thaworn Wiratchant (2007) and Korea's young Noh Seung-yul (2008).
