The 'Ps' pay off for Pilkadaris

SEOUL, May 9 - The military adage about the seven Ps paid off for Terry Pilkadaris at Namseoul Country Club on Thursday as the Australian grabbed a share of the lead at the GS Caltex Maekyung Open with a barnstorming eight-under par 64.

"Proper planning and preparation prevents pathetically poor performance," the adage goes -- usually with a more colourful fifth word --  but for Pilkadaris you could also add "putting"  to the mix.

"I changed my preparation this week. I have been getting up about three hours before I play and going for a run, so this morning I was up at about five-thirty and went for a 15 to 20 minute run," he said.

Kim Kyung-tae has his soul in Namseoul

SEOUL, May 8 - OneAsia regular Kim Kyung-tae returns to his home-away-from-home on Thursday in a bid to win an unprecedented third GS Caltex Maekyung Open title and cement a love affair with a course he has played literally hundreds of times since he first took up golf.

Kim knows ever inch of the hilly 6,943 yard (6,349 metre) Namseoul Country Club course, venue for the 32nd edition of the one billion won (around U.S. $900,000) OneAsia event, and is one of the hot favourites for what is known locally as "the Korean Masters" -- even down to the green jacket that comes with victory.

"It is very, very familiar to me," the 26-year-old said after a practice round on Wednesday. "It plays differently depending on the time of the year, but it keeps the same character."

OneAsia's Australian PGA Championship extends for 3 years

Multi-million dollar agreement penned by PGA of Australia to take professional golf tournament on OneAsia through to 2012.

Australia - Today, OneAsia - Asia Pacific's first consolidated professional tournament pathway for elite golfers - and the PGA of Australia announced the extension of the Australian PGA Championship for a  minimum of three years, through to 2012. The PGA of Australia will continue its already successful partnership with the Queensland Government through Queensland Events, the Hyatt Regency Coolum and the Sunshine Coast Regional Council to ensure that the event remains at its well loved home of Coolum - and on the OneAsia schedule - for a minimum of three years.
