South Korean Bae Sang-moon marked his first ever victory on OneAsia when he successfully defended the Kolon-Hana Bank Korea Open in 2009.
He recorded a one-stroke victory over compatriot Kim Dae-sub at Woo Jeung Hills Golf Club for his second big win of 2009. He had also claimed the GS Caltex Maekyung Open earlier in May.
A fired-up Bae also took home the 2010 SK Telecom Open title - for the second year in a row - after he posted a 22-under-par total of 266 over the Sky 72 Golf Club’s Ocean Course to don Korean golf’s Red Jacket.
He had overhauled fellow OneAsia champion Kim Dae-hyun, who was seeking a wire-to-wire win by holing a series of crucial putts to close with a five-under 67, a score only matched on a blustery final day by seven-time PGA Tour winner K.J. Choi, who finished third.
Bae also became the second player on OneAsia to win multiple titles on the tour.
The Daegu resident finished third on the 2010 OneAsia Order of Merit and also third on the Korean Tour’s money list for the season.
Bae is one of the biggest hitters in Asian golf. The athletic golfer is one of a crop of young Koreans expected to follow in the footsteps of Choi Kyung-ju and Yang Yong-eun.
