ONEASIA - First Tour To Unite The Asia-Pacific Region

OneAsia Confirms Player Eligibility

OneAsia’s groundbreaking second season tees-off in April and as the Tour continues to build a solid platform for development the player eligibility criteria has been finalized for 2010.


OneAsia was set up to create a season long circuit of US$1million events across the Asia-Pacific region and the player eligibility criteria has ensured its tournaments are open to the elite golfers across the region.


Ten tournaments have been confirmed this year with other events expected to be announced shortly as OneAsia bids to establish itself as an alternative to the US PGA Tour and the European Tour.

GS Caltex Maekyung Open joins OneAsia

OneAsia has welcomed the GS Caltex Maekyung Open, one of the premier professional golf tournaments in South Korea, onto its burgeoning 2010 schedule.

The tournament will be played at its traditional home at the Namseoul Country Club in Seoul from May 6-9. The final prize money will be confirmed at a later date.

The 29th GS Caltex Maekyung Open is the most recent addition to this year’s 11-event OneAsia schedule and is another strong indication that OneAsia continues to gather momentum.

Strange tops OneAsia Order of Merit

Scott Strange (pictured) won the inaugural OneAsia Order of Merit title with a total of US$505,783 after rounding out the season with a joint runner-up finish at the US$1.2 million Australian PGA Championship presented by Coca-Cola.

Strange teed off the inaugural OneAsia season in spectacular style in April by earning US$366,660 for winning the US$2.2 million Volvo China Open, co-sanctioned by the European Tour.

The Perth-born 32-year-old shared 12th place in this month’s US$1.2 million Australian Open before earning US$127,125 at the Australian PGA on the Sunshine Coast, where he finished four strokes behind winner Robert Allenby.

Allenby takes route 66 to fourth Australian PGA title

Robert Allenby shot his second straight 66 of the weekend to win the US$1.2 million Australian PGA Championship presented by Coca-Cola for a fourth time and close out the inaugural OneAsia season.

Allenby’s 14-under total of 270 left him four clear of fellow Australians John Senden and Volvo China Open champion Scott Strange, who shot 67 and 69 respectively over the Hyatt Regency Coolum’s par-71 layout on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

Marc Leishman carded a 68 to finish nine-under, one ahead of 2006 champion Nick O’Hern (67) and Michael Sim (70). Defending champion Geoff Ogilvy (71), Stuart Appleby (68), Rod Pampling (65) and New Zealander Josh Geary (68) shared seventh on seven-under.
